Finally I have come up with the Bride and Groom for the New York classes being hosted by Pisky Pixie Sugarcraft at the end of October and 1st November. I have one more project to reveal before the classes will be advertised....although I've done nothing but talk about them on here! hahaha! Early registration is being offered to all of those who are already on the waiting list and it could possibly be that these classes will be filled before they're even advertised so it's all good news for me I have to say. I'm thrilled. Now....onto the next project THEN I can work on the Austin projects for August! Yeehaw!

HOUSTON WORKSHOP PROJECT
This is the Fisherman Groom and Bride that I will be teaching in Houston in April. The subjects were chosen from my wedding cake gallery on my old website but I revamped them a little to make sure both could be done in a one day class. You will see the original in my Flickr photos and will see that the fisherman was leaning back and being dragged by the bride. Doing it that way meant a few hours of drying time before continuing with the next stages so now the groom is getting a bit of a reprieve and isn't being dragged at all....he looks a bit perplexed all the same! You can see other views of this project on Flickr. THERE ARE STILL A FEW SPACES LEFT FOR THESE WORKSHOPS SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, CONTACT HOUSTON CAKE CLUB FOR DETAILS.

Happy 80th Birthday Dad!
Today my dad is 80 years old. I made him a chocolate cake and a special cake topper of course. I whisked him and my mum out for the day and allowed them to have a little breather before whisking them off again and out to dinner! It was a fabulous day.....coffee....shopping....relaxing....more coffee! No big parties, just us. Grand! Dad says it's the best 80th birthday he's ever had! hahaha! Happy Birthday Dad! xxx Dad's cake

First cake for 2009
Just in case you are struggling to guess who this is, it's meant to be Wall-E. It was a simple version (as you see!) and was a matter of cutting shapes and sticking into position but I'm not too sure of the likeness to the character at all. The cake itself was chocolate orange with the same buttercream flavoured filling which I have to say tasted FABulous (the family...and me!...had the remains of the top once levelled! hahaha!) I take my hat off to anyone who would create this in 3d like the hugely talented Debbie Goard....if she hasn't done it yet then I have no doubt she would have no trouble at all. If you haven't seen Debbie's work yet then it's time you did. ;o)
