Scotland....och aye the noo!

I was asked to make a cake simply as the Saltire flag....but you know me! How can you add humour to a flag? A while ago I made Jimmy Hat mini cakes and they sprang to mind again when the flag request came in. Soooo....what better way to cheer up a flag than to add a Jimmy Hat! Hahaha! "See you Jimmy!"

I almost forgot...I made a video on Vimeo some time ago too showing how I made the Jimmy Hat mini cake toppers but you can only view it by being a member of Extra Icing website. It is one of the few exclusive to members only videos on there...so if you want to see it, get joining! It's free! ;o)

This is a demo cake and I will be offering a workshop later in the year when the animals will be the subject and either one tier of this cake or two smaller tiers...I am undecided. I teach figures all the time, and bears along the way, so this little collection are a new addition and make a nice change. You can see more pictures a little closer on my Flickr page. Enjoy!

I'd just like to thank the ladies of Hartlepool Cake Club for making my workshop sooooo easy! I was mightily impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of this lovely bunch. The time flew by much too quickly as usual but everyone went home with their own amazing creation....I am so proud of you all! I look forward to seeing you again. Cheers! :o)

I'm gone for 2 days!

I'm off to Hartlepool tomorrow to do a workshop on Wednesday. I won't have my computer with me so I will not be able to deal with any Tutorial purchases during this time, but I will deal with them first thing on Thursday. I will be travelling home after the class on Wednesday but will take around 4 hours or more to arrive home. I don't think I will be alert enough to deal with the mail at that point so best leave it til my eyes are wide awake and my brain is in tune with the rest of my body! My apologies for any inconvenience to you but it doesn't happen too often so I hope I will be forgiven. See you on Thursday....don't miss me too much, will you! ;o)

Moooo!

Soon I hope to have a little farmyard full of animals...it all began with the Valentine Day sheep and today I thought a cow would make a nice friend! We'll see how many other farm friends will be available before the end of the week...although I'm preparing to go off to Hartlepool for a workshop and still have one final project to finish for New York in November. Perhaps the farm friends will have to wait a little while....but not too long! ;o)

Victorian Lady

This lady is hopefully going to be one of the subjects for a class in Austin in August. I certainly hope so...I really enjoed making her. I am doing a less detailed lady for one of my workshops in London alongside Debbie Brown, who will be recreating her wedding couple from her 60's Love design and also the Party Mice, both from her latest book, Dream Wedding Cakes.
