Diamonds are a girl's best friend!

Okay...so they're not real, but they still look pretty good though don't they? This little gem is made from silver florist wire and 2 different sized swarovski crystals. The gift box is what I always use to model with...Renshaw Regalice and Tylopur added for strength. In other words, modelling paste! A long way for a short cut but I get there in the end. LOL! I made this some time ago and then did nothing with it. What a shame. It should be sitting on a demo engagement cake or something to show it off. Instead, it is sitting tarnishing slightly, the gold powdered paint work is starting to fade a little. Perhaps a little touch up is in order to bring this little gem back to life. :o)

New York Cake Convention - 2nd & 3rd January 2010!

Well? Do you see anyone that you know?? NY Cake Convention Guest List Woooohoooooo!! YES.....it may be an old and tired looking photo but there is no doubt, it is definitely yours truly. I have been invited to attend this fabulous event and will be bringing you some fabulous classes and a few demonstrations to boot! Not to mention my wit and charm which will be thrown in for good measure. New York, New Year....old me I'm afraid! Hahaha!

I wasn't sure how these would turn out but I have to say I'm pretty pleased. A couple of things I might change...but maybe next time. This is all that was required on this cake but I added a few big blossom cut outs and a butterfly and sparkled it a little just for effect. I hope the birthday girl likes it!

Granny's little Princess has arrived!

Finally! Tegan McKay decided it was time to join us at 4 minutes past midnight this morning. After 22 hours of labour, I don't know that I could go through it again. LOL! Being a granny is the difficult part you know. At least her mummy was doing something.....I had to endure the wait! hahaha! After a mad rush to strip Mothercare of it's pink collection of baby items, it was time to meet my little princess. She'll soon realise that she is onto a good thing, don't you worry. Watch out for a new sparkly pink Alice Band to compliment that beautiful head of dark hair. Welcome to the world my little Tegan. Granny LOVES you! x
