Yes..I'm still banging on about L.A. workshops!!

With L.A. just around the corner, I am still going on and on about the classes. Do you think I am getting excited or what?? There are still places available as the venue was only recently secured. Do come along if you can. It is going to be fun, fun, FUN!! Find the details at Capital Confectioners. The Bride in this picture is one of my personal favourites to teach and this month I taught the first and last kilted Groom for 2010. All the others are in troosers! Still, I did enjoy creating the kilt yet again. Don't forget to visit Capital Confectioners and come and see me in L.A. I PROMISE I will stop mentioning these classes in my posts soon....there are plenty more classes throughout the year all over the country. Visit my website for those. Cheers!

Little Miss Muffet

A surprise in store for Miss Muffet as there is a spider on the loose! Mind you...if this was the true proportion of a spider you wouldn't see me outside having a picnic. No way pedro! I haven't quite decided what is to become of this little project. It might become a class or it may simply be used for display. I am thinking about other nursery rhymes and how I would recreate the themes as it were. So there might be a little collection gathering here. Mostly sugar versions although I reserve the right to be an impression of Humpty Dumpty until I lose some of this excess weight which has plagued me since Christmas. Oh well...tis the season to be jolly! Anyone coming to L.A.?? Do let me know. It's not long now before I'll be flying off to teach y'all!

"I'm a laydee I am!"

If you think you've seen her before then you'd be right. This is yet another "Beautiful Belle" from my workshop of the same name. Every workshop I teach from home in my Studio leaves me with another model for display. I chose a different colour of dress for this one and after the class as I was left wondering where she should go, I decided to add a little friend to keep her company. Next time I advertise to teach this figure I may just add the little pooch too. Only a few more weeks to go before the Los Angeles workshops hosted by Capital Confectioners. If you haven't booked a place yet there are still some available. You won't be disappointed. Learn new skills or brush up on old ones and most of all.....have FUN!! If you are coming to see me in any of my workshops throughout 2010, let me know. Whether you follow me on this blog or simply came across me browsing the website, I like to know who you are too.

Love is all you need

With Valentine's Day now behind us, I was left inspired by the card I received from my lovely husband which had a kind of decoupage effect...that wasn't what inspired me. My card has a teddy bear holding up a "Love" placquard so I changed the main character to an elephant and took things from there. With the dummy cake that I used for the You.Tube video (on how to cover it) still laying around I decided to put it to some use. More PINK I have to say! I really need to use other colours. LOL! I have been playing around in my head with visions of elephants lately so look out for more of them coming up. I have more magazine shoots coming up so am thinking that this little man might be used for one of those....or....he might end up being the subject of a beginners class. Who knows at the moment....not me!

Change of subject for L.A. workshops in March

A change of subject for the workshops next month in Los Angeles. "Girl's Best Friend" will replace Adam and Steve who were unfortunately not so popular....but I understand the reasons completely. From a subject point of view, my boys were considered too much of the same to do in a workshop. Why didn't I think of that?? Sooooo.....this is the new one. One of my personal favourites so I can only hope it will be yours too since the classes are in just a few weeks time! OMG! If you are interested in booking this class you can do so here . If the site hasn't been updated to show this picture yet simply contact the organisers and let them know of your interest to attend...or e-mail me and I'll forward your details for you.

First workshop of 2010!

London Workshops were kicked off by a small group of talented ladies who attended my "Bride and Groom" class at the weekend. One of the ladies had to leave a little sharpish so missed the group photo. (but we were thinking about you Mita when we smiled for the camera!) It's a shame I didn't think to take a photo of everyone holding their masterpieces because just like me, you would have been in awe of their achievements. The Bride's dress in this project was a little different to previous classes as we added more colour and depth to the dress. Gorgeous! I look forward to repeating the Scottish version of the couple in my Studio later this month. So THANK YOU ladies of London, who made this class so enjoyable. I hope to see a lot more of your creations as you continue to enjoy working with sugar! See you again in London in April!
