No Internet access til Tuesday!!

I am in Ireland at the moment and will not be home until Tuesday, 1st June. I sincerely apologise for being unable to send any tutorials purchased during this time. I cannot get Internet access and cannot deal with sales using my iPhone. I will respond to all mail immediately upon my return and again apologise for the inconvenience. If anyone should wish a refund as opposed to a tutorial just let me know. Thank you for your understanding.

Story time

Another class subject recreated from a workshop I held last weekend. Until today, this little girlie had another head and dark hair and didn't have a little companion to read to either. So this was my mission for the day....revamp and renew! I'm really happy with the changes so this will now become a class in the future. Seattle workshops will be announced soon, the subjects are almost decided and the dates are more or less settled. I'm sure by the end of next week I'll be letting you know all the details.

New stuff for 2011

Working on new "stuff" for 2011 workshops already. This little lady will be introduced to London first of all I reckon...then who knows where she'll travel. To see a little more of this subject just go to my Flickr photos. Need to get working on another Bride and Groom this week too. It isn't for a class this time but for a real bride. No more cakes I said! I know....but this one was booked some time ago and I really want to do it as the dress is quite different and the groom's attire ranks high on my favourite list. Bring it on!

Another elephant!

Oooh, it's another elephant. This one however is for a client AND...it's PINK!! I'm never going to learn am I. hahaha! This little cutie is for an 18 year old. I only hope she likes her. I do!
UPDATE: The customer who ordered this cake has declined to answer e-mail to come and collect. After speaking to an elderly gentleman today who first of all thought I had the wrong number, but when I confirmed the name with him, he changed his mind. Asked me to call after 5pm which I did and have been switched to answer service on all occasions. Left a message, but it's clear....this is a no show. I leave for Caithness tomorrow morning early to teach class this weekend so this cake will be sitting festering for all that time. Although I made a decision last year to stop making cakes for customers, if I can manage a little something for someone without it taking anything away from my time then I will normally still do it....until today. I stick by my original decision and be sure I won't be caught out again. Here's a warning to cake makers....don't ever take a telephone order without getting a deposit to back it up. Your good nature and trust is not always shared with others. Cake and coffee anyone??

New "How To" on Extra Icing

Another video exclusive for Extra Icing members only! This 3 part video shows you how to create a simple side design using embossers and cutters. Finally, a little cartoon elephant to top it all off. This is an exellent design for beginners, and once again....it's all in PINK! Oh dear. I really need to realise that there are actually a lot of beautiful colours to be tried and tested. haha! I've a Bride and Groom to create very soon for my one and only real wedding cake for this year. The colours are certainly different and it is going to look stunning. The wedding is in June, but I'm so busy in May and off to Florida in June too so I'm grabbing all the free days I have to try and put it together. You won't be seeing it until the wedding I'm afraid. I'll be sooooo tempted to post it but best not until the wedding. It wouldn't be fair now would it. I'm so rubbish at keeping things to myself....so watch this space! Oops!

Hedgehog crossing

A little bit of fun for the day. Had to leave Mr. Hedgehog overnight to dry propping up his Stop board! All made with modelling paste (sugar paste with Tylopur added). I'm about to write up the step by step on this one as it may be used for a magazine shoot if it gets the okay. If not...I'll keep it for a beginners class. What d'ya fink?? I reckon it's about time I did a beginner's class in London. I'll get my thinking head on and check the diary and see what can be done for 2011. Speaking of diaries...I've just confirmed that I will be teaching in Portugal in 2012!! There won't be any more details on that one until the beginning of next year though. Too early to start thinking of classes that far ahead, but just know that I'm going to be there. If you want to be added to the waiting list you can e-mail me with the heading "Portugal" and you'll be first to know the details when they become available.
