He loves me...he loves me not!

A cheeky wee title for this new class which will be coming up soon. Have no clue where yet...but it will be soon! Lol! The clothes for this one were heavily inspired by Next Online Shopping for kids. I never really thought of using it for inspiration before, but it's a great idea. The kids are better kitted out than the adults these day...fabulous knitwears...but that's another blog! Anyhoo...I think I've made this wee lassie look like one of the Tweenies! It wasn't my intention, poor thing, but it's a simpler style of modelling to satisfy those who want a less intensive course but who also want to achieve great standards. On that note...I have to tell you that I am bidding you a fond farewell for some days as I am off to Malaysia this afternoon and will be teaching at the International Centre of Cake Artistry. I'll keep you posted of anything that might interest you. I look forward to seeing any of you who are taking part in the classes....cheers!

Bride and Groom workshop in October

Shark Attack! New class for 2012

Something fishy goin' on here! Hahaha! This is a new class and will be on the list for 2012. Not quite sure exactly where yet but I'm sure it will do it's rounds. I had a lot of fun with this one, creating a bit of fishy humour! Very colourful and a bit sparkly too...any excuse to use a bit of sparkle, right?

New class coming soon

Coming soon...a selection of less intense modelling classes! Following on with the success of the "Let's Face It...Cupcake Toppers" Online Tutorial, I am creating new classes along the same lines, only more 3d of course and not just a flattened head to be eaten on top of an abundance of scrummy buttercream! Lol! The Bride and Groom class will still be part of the class list for sure. This is just a taste of what is coming. I'll keep you up to date with anything new and also where the classes are likely to be.

Christmas cake workshop

It's nearing the festive time again, and this year I am offering a Christmas Cake workshop where you will be shown how to cover your fruit cake professionally, adding a touch of elegance with a decorative side design. The key element of this class is in the covering of this cake. I will take you through the steps to achieve a beautifully smooth finish. A little hand modelling to create a realistic looking candle and holder on top...sweet! Lunch is provided on the day. You will be treated to the best the Thistles Coffee Shop has to offer as we step out for a moment of relaxation and coffee! Although, coffee and tea will always be on tap during the workshop along with some home baked treats to keep you smiling. Only 6 places on this class so book early to secure your place.

Are we done already??

That's it over for another year...well another two I reckon. Florida had a double whammy last week when I arrived shortly before a hurricane which thankfully missed Kissimmee where the classes were held but we had our share of thunder storms, that's for sure. It didn't spoil the momentum of the class and even though the lights decided to go out on us one day we carried on like good little soldiers. I've had a blast in Florida...ate my share of the ocean while I was there and had a little retail therapy. I half expect to find my face on America's most wanted one of these days. They let me away with so much when I am let loose in the shops to sample the goodies on display...I didn't buy anything this time though. All these beads and goodies stayed put...I don't think the UK is ready for this look just yet! Anyhoo...homeward bound am I (I'm writing this in Newark Airport!) and back to a weekend cupcake class which is going to be a whole new thing for Extra Icing and a lot of fun. Beginner's class near the end of the month followed by classes in Malaysia to end September and take us into October. Then it will be the "C" word.....the one where Santa is involved....not the other one, don't get me into trouble!
